South Australia

South Australia is the wine and seafood capital of Australia; where the Murray River meets the sea; and the gateway to the South Australian outback. The Flinders Ranges and Outback and Kangaroo Island are unique and spectacular and are places as of great cultural, natural and spiritual significance. World Heritage Listed caves are found at Naracoorte on the Limestone Coast.

The South Australian coastline is more than 3,800 kilometres long and is punctuated by towns, beaches, cliffs and jetties. Many coastal regions offer quality wines and fresh produce, including local seafood. The coastline has fantastic fishing, boating and surfing. Head to Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Eyre Peninsula or Limestone Coast for more brilliant coastal experiences.

South Australia is proud to be Australia’s wine capital, with numerous regions on our doorstep. You’ll be spoilt for choice. There are reds from the Coonawarra on the Limestone Coast and the famous Barossa, which is just an hour's drive from Adelaide. Travel another hour north and you'll reach the Clare Valley, which is famous for its Rieslings. The Adelaide Hills has some stunning whites and there’s McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula - about an hour's drive south of the city. Drive yourself or join a guided tour of Adelaide and its surrounds - the choice is yours.

So now you know a little more about South Australia and you have a good idea how large and diverse it is; it's time to book your next South Australian holiday.
